Welcome to Warriapendi Primary School

Warriapendi Primary School is a co-educational Independent Public School (2010), first opened in 1970. We are located in the northern suburb of Balga, thirteen kilometres north of Perth City. The school has an enrolment of approximately 190 students drawn from a diversity of backgrounds. The school currently has seven class groups plus full-time Pre-primary and two part time Kindergarten programs.

The school has a full range of facilities including three teaching clusters, Music Room, Library, Canteen, Covered Assembly Area, Dental Therapy Clinic, Pre-Primary (part of cluster) and on-site Kindergarten. The school's computer network includes computers and interactive boards in all classrooms, the library and the administration building.

The school has a highly professional and competent school staff. Their continuing support of the students and each other has created a very positive and collaborative atmosphere within the school environment, which is critical for the effective operation of the school. In addition to the teaching staff, the school is fortunate to have access to the services of a number of specialist support teachers, education assistants and special needs education assistants.

The school has a focus on literacy and numeracy and a number of school-wide programs operate to support this focus. A whole school approach to literacy supports the literacy program within the school. Music programs are offered from Year 1 through to Year 6 and the school has a visual arts program for students in Years 1 - 6.

The Western Australian Government has committed $48.7 million to establish 16 purpose-built Child and Parent Centres on selected public school sites throughout the State and Warriapendi Primary School has been selected to host one of these new centres. The school welcomes the opportunity of working closely with the Child and Parent Centre in supporting families and their children from our immediate community as well as through our nearby schools and their communities.

Families with young children (birth to 8 years) will have easier access to coordinated early learning, maternal, health, developmental and parenting support services and programs for their young children during these busy and important formative years. More detailed information about the Child and Parent Centre Warriapendi CPC can be accessed through the Department of Education website at www.education.wa.edu.au

The school is currently reviewing the 2013-2015 Business Plan and commencing the planning for the 2016-2018 Business Plan. The new plan will offer a 'whole package' educational program for students that will give parents educational confidence from CPC to High School.

Warriapendi Primary School values the input of its strong parent body. The school became an Independent Public School in 2010. A School Board and Parents & Citizens Association provide opportunities for parents to have input into the school. A student council provides opportunities for student input.
